Fine. Fine! I'll do whatever I can to convince Bart to stay away from that guy, you just- just watch them. Just watch. [Wally figures Barry is probably very attached to Bart; Bart makes it difficult to remain unattached in the face of his undiluted enthusiasm for attaching to people. Factoring in how annoyingly kind his own Barry is and assuming at least some of that carries over, Wally can surmise the two of them probably have a reasonably good relationship already.
But Bart's a part of Wally's life now. He's his little brother. The idea of letting Bart hang around Eobard Thawne makes Wally's skin crawl.]
...he's your Thawne. D'you think he'd ever try to use Bart to get to you?

[ Technically speaking, Barry knows very well that there's a possiblity something will happen that he can't stop. On his best days he has trouble predicting what Eobard "I Hate You, Barry Allen" Thawne will do. Add in Bart who— has his own element of unpredictability and the possibilities kind of make Barry's head spin.
He can roll with the punches and make things work but there's a tiny voice in the back of his head that cautions him and reminds him that just maybe he'll mess up and Bart will be used against him. Maybe even Wally if Eobard's feeling particularly annoying and that makes something twist in his gut. It's the same sort of thing that made him back out on the deal with him and— he really doesn't want to think about it. ]
No. Because there's no point to it. I— the reason he killed my mom is because he couldn't get me because I got whisked away about twenty blocks away from him. The only reason he kidnapped a friend is because that was his ancestor. [ He sighs. ] He knows we're related just because of the name and he knows how attached I get to people. How I'm capable of making surrogate families with what I have lying around. So he'll know I care for him but there's no— point in using Bart to get to me.
Especially when I'm in the same house as him. All he has to do is murder me in my sleep, way less effort for him.

Look, do you want to stay with us for a while? I don't think Thawne could find this place, we're pretty well hidden.
no subject
I— Let me think about it? Normally I'd be very gung-ho about this and I trust that you guys can handle yourself but Reverse Flash is not something I'd wish on anyone and I don't want your place compromised by him. Because I wouldn't put it past him to be able to.
no subject
It's Thawne. [And Wally wants him nowhere near Gar and Robin. Bart could maybe outrun the guy, if he was lucky, but Kid wouldn't even be able to get away himself, let alone carry anyone else to safety.]
You better call me if you need help.

[ And while he'd love to take Wally up on the offer immediately it presents the same problem staying with Hal did. If he went there it'd put other people in harms way and while he could do his best to protect them— there's limits. Despite everything though, Barry ends up laughing softly. ]
You're first on my speed dial. Two speedsters against one always works out better than one against one. The same goes for you, Wally. Just call and I'll be there in— you know.
[ Feel proud of him, he didn't make the joke. ]

So. Then what do we do about Bart? Just keep an eye and an ear out? I'm not really good at the "waiting to be screwed over by the time-traveling lunatic murderer" game, I tend to be more proactive.
no subject
So do I. It's also what he expects and what got me in trouble at home. I think we have to wait at least this first meeting out and then we'll talk about it. Because if Eobard's as much of a dick as he is normally to people who have the last name Allen then he might solve the problem of getting Bart away from him for us.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I hate that guy.
no subject
who? ]
He tends to have that effect on people. [ See also: me too, but I'm gonna be the adult who doesn't say it. ] Sorry about— not telling you before, by the way. You know how weird things have been for the past week.
no subject
You want me to tell everybody else? I'm pretty sure the League should know about this guy if he's as powerful as the one from my world.
no subject
I've already got Superman and GL handled. Do I have to tell Batman too?
[ He doesn't wanna tell Batman, can Batman not be told about this. Can he avoid meeting Batman ever, maybe? ]
And Green Arrow's— not— I couldn't get a message through. So, assuming he's not here any more so I think that's everyone.
no subject
Also probably we should tell Power Girl and Booster Gold. I can tell them, if you want.
no subject
Definitely tell Booster since— I don't think I could tell him without laughing at that name. And if you tell Power Girl, ask her how she is for me— I haven't talked to her since I first came here but she seemed nice.

This is my version of the wanting to prove I can do this thing. Don't you dare tell Batman, Wally I'm not even kidding.
no subject
It makes you think of caves and screeching. And vampires if you're feeling particularly in tune with pop culture.

Point is if you have no experience with a Batman then he's totally not scary. He'll probably ask you out for drinks or something.
no subject
Was that supposed to make me feel better? Because I had enough phone tapping/camera spying from Eobard at home. [ That is negative degrees of helpful, Wally. Negative degrees. ]
...Ask me out for drinks or something. In what? His civilian outfit or his bat costume? Because seeing a dude in a bat costume and me in my Flash uniform won't look weird at all. That's not even getting into the me not getting drunk portion of this.
no subject
I'm telling him. I'm gonna text him right now.

So. Don't text Batman. And remember that this is all new to me okay! I'm working on a learning curve that's like running up a very tall building. I'm used to Green Arrow and my team. That's it. Not Batmans and Supermans and everyone else!
