Holy crap.

[Wally takes the box and gazes at her in clear adoration because she just gave him a box of cupcakes, but then gets a good look at her flushed and sweaty face underneath that hood and why are you wearing that in this heat.]

Whoa, you okay? C'mon, let's go in there. [He gestures toward a nearby Starbucks. Air conditioning and cold drinks at least, even if they give him the stink eye for bringing in his own food.]

[ Some people do stupid things for habitual reasons, and Annie hasn't yet developed a taste for other full length shirts. Though damn, is she really going to have to.

She runs the back of her wrist across her forehead, shaking her head. She's less and less pleased to be near Levi and Erwin's home, knowing what she does about the things they seem to believe and think.

They're not very comfortable people. ]

I'm fine. I've been running around.

[ Does not want to aggravate people who are not not not okay with her really being around. If it's less of a hassle with Wally, she goes, not wanting the argument - that draws attention - and heads toward the coffee shop as he suggests.

Honest to whomever, the air conditioning is a blessing from the technological gods once she's inside, and she lets out a deep sigh and stands off to the side, not really looking toward the counter. Coffee is mostly too hard on her stomach, still, and she's not sure she likes it. ]

[Wally just slides into a booth and pop open that box to start eating right then and there. C'mon Annie, join him!]

So how come you don't wanna be at my house?

[ Annie follows after a few seconds, sliding into the booth opposite of Wally. She pulls at the back of her hoodie, fanning herself a little. ]

A handful of those you live with unsettle me.

[Wally slumps into his seat with a sigh, stuffing a cupcake into his face.] You're telling me. Especially this one guy, Levi? Lunatic, certified. I guarantee it.

[ ... at least that's apparently universal. Annie bites back a sigh, leaning back, shoulders curled forward. Defensive posturing, and followed by a frown that's more a pursing of her lips than anything dramatic. ]

Levi isn't the most stable individual.

[ And he destabilizes others even more, here. ]

No kidding! The guy is crazy. Did you know he keeps a bat in the closet to threaten people with when they track dirt into the house? [Wally rolls his eyes and stuffs another cupcake in before offering Annie the box. Want one?] He's nuts. I can't take much more of this.

Why not move out?

[ No seriously. Annie holds up a hand to ward off the box, not feeling like eating at the moment, and definitely not up for that much process sugar. ]

[Wally chews thoughtfully for a bit, pulling the box back over to himself.]

...it's not an option. Not right now.

[ She's been paying attention to what Noh-Varr says, along with that Godot guy. It's been...

It's sure been an experience. She rests her elbows on the table, hardly polite, leaning her chin on one hand as she looks at Wally. Eating cupcakes. ]

[she may notice that the box is already half empty somehow]

I don't have the money to move out, for one.

[ suddenly paying much closer attention. wait... half gone already? what the - ]

You can still request a housing relocation from the government while you're saving up for your own space.

[he's just eating cupcakes like a normal hungry teenage boy nothing to see here]

Yeah, but what if they just stick me with another group of whackos? I'll just hang out at my friends' houses until I can move out, it's not a big deal. [despite him complaining about it the entire time]

[ how is he not dying from a sugar coma is he going to get hyper does he stop to breathe between bites how is he talking at the same time - mysteries on mysteries ]

Why not move in with your friends?

[ Seriously... he lives with Armin, who did just that, unofficial as it is. ]

[Wally pauses with a cupcake half to his mouth.

...he honestly had not considered that. To be fair, until a couple days ago the only two people he'd move in with were Robin (who lives with him) and Artemis (no).]

[ Annie lifts her eyebrows. She's mildly curious if he had just been complaining to complain. ]

It's an option... if the situation really doesn't sit well for you. If this is just complaining for the hell of it,then say so. I've noticed people our age have made that kind of idle complaining into an artform. Worse than olddrunkards and market workers..

[Wally points at her with his cupcake.] Yes, that. I wanted to complain like an old drunkard.

[ She makes a small dismissive motion with her hand, settling back and feeling herself slowly cool down. She won't pay his complaining much mind outside of noting complaints, points of view, and personal tendencies. All the stuff she can't turn off anyway. ]

Alright. Complaints registered, cupcake drunkard. Levi and Erwin aren't a threat to you anyway. They fight to defend people, not to destroy them, no matter how messy they may be. You're not military. They can't reasonably expect differently.

The Erwin guy, whatever, sure. I don't see much of him.

Levi's definitely a threat though, don't tell me he's not. I'm pretty sure that if I wasn't so spry he'd have bashed my kneecaps in by now. [and it's looking more and more likely by the day]

... He's actually used that bat on you?

[ She says, gesturing to Wally. ]

His legitimate threats aren't going to be focused on you. Especially not if you get out of that place.

I dunno; when he gets that thing out and taps it on his shoulder while staring right at me, the threat seems pretty legitimate. [Wally shrugs and shoves another cupcake in his mouth.] But yeah, I'm gonna seriously look into moving out. [With Robin in tow, obviously.] You live up in NC, right? Is it nice up there? Snow in the winter?

I wouldn't know from experience, I've only been here since what month... May? No, the end of April. But people do talk about snow in the winter.

[ She shrugs, picking up the front of her hoodie and holding it off her chest. The air conditioned air that slips in feels nice. ]

It's less humid, gets more rain. I like the thunderstorms. I hear tornados hit every so often... not where I am, but elsewhere. I hadn't heard of those before now. Or hurricanes, as a matter of fact. Aside from the Hornet issue, Nonah's not a bad city to be near.

[Snow, yes. Wally doesn't think he can survive without snow in the winter, it's just unheard of.]

What's the Hornet issue? [He leans forward, resting his chin in his hand.]
